The conference will review progress on improving road safety in Africa and examine how African countries and institutions might implement a 'Decade of Action' for road safety, one of the proposals that will be debated by Ministers in Moscow. It will also review progress on implementing the Accra Declaration on Road Safety and the Millennium Development Goals which was adopted by African Ministers of Transport and Health in 2007. The two day UNECA workshop will focus on developing road safety national plans and targets.

The conference and workshop will be attended by delegates from across Africa and international road safety experts.
